I checked in at about 1015 pm after a heavy day and a 4 hour drive only to experience a long delay of at least 30 minutes in gaining access to my room. The reason was a malfunctioning electronic lock but after complaining ar reception I was sent back on my own to 'try again' but to no avail and I could only gain access by finding another staff member who happened to be in that part of the hotel. This person was helpful but also had difficulty in opening the door. I would also like to say that the standard of service at breakfast where I was holding a breakfast meeting with three guests was very poor and staff inattentive. For example there were no hot plates available, the table lacked cups, butter etc, and we had to repeatedly request service for tea, coffee etc. Nobody seemed to have responsibility for our table and I had on three occasions during the meal to wander off to find someone who could serve us.
